Gandoca-Manzanillo Refuge Jungle Hike

Step into one of the most beautiful and biodiverse regions in Costa Rica. The Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge protects several of the country's rarest ecosystems, including the only intact mangrove swamp on the Atlantic coast and primary lowland rainforests. On this guided trek, you’ll journey through dense jungle trails where the rainforest meets the white-sand beaches of the Caribbean. It is a world of giant trees, exotic wildlife, and breathtaking coastal viewpoints that few travelers ever get to see in their natural state.

Departure: Pick-up at your hotel at 7:00 AM or 12:00 PM.

The Hike: We enter the refuge at the Manzanillo sector. Your naturalist guide will lead you through a combination of primary and secondary forests.

Wildlife Spotting: We keep a sharp eye out for Three-toed sloths, Howler monkeys, White-faced capuchins, Iguanas, and the stunning Great Green Macaw.

Coastal Views: The trail opens up to hidden bays and dramatic cliffs, including the famous 'Manzanillo Mirador' for incredible photo opportunities.

Conclusion: Return to the entrance of the refuge for your transfer back to your hotel.
